Elder J.H.N. Tindall's story is told, in part, in my book, d'Sozo. For those who haven't read the book, I'll just introduce him as the man chosen to implement the Lord's call for "a decided change" in the way we were to carry out our evangelistic work in large cities. Elder Tindall was a successful evangelist, perhaps most importantly so in that those who joined the church as a result of his evangelistic efforts very rarely "went out the back door." Decades later, they were either Seventh-day Adventists or they were dead.
There's a lot of history here. Just start reading.
